The IR (A) training course trains pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate aircraft under IFR and IMC.

| Practical programme | 15 h of PA28 or DA42 |
| Practical programme | Between 25 and 40 h of FNPT II |
| Requirements for access to the course |

| Possession of least one PPL in the appropriate aircraft category |
| The night flight categories according to FCL.810 or an ATPL in another category of aircraft |
| Or a CPL in the appropriate aircraft category, and completion of at least 50 flying hours as a pilot in command on aircraft |
